What is our primary function?
As part of the lay ministry in the church we work along with the regular ministry. We call on the sick and bereaved, pray, teach, assist the pastor especially in matters of gender considerations, we counsel younger women, assist in the physical needs of female candidates during baptism and assist in the care and preparation of communion utensils and linens.
How does our ministry serve St. Paul?
We try to insure each woman in the church has a deep spiritual and memorable experience in each phase of their lives. We are all instructed by Jesus to go into all the world teaching his commandments. If we do, those that hear will come to Christ with a promise of abundant life and eternal life.
What is expected of those who join this ministry?
A commitment to Christ and His work here on earth. The amount of work a deaconess can do depends to a large degree on the dedication with which she tackles the task.
What can you expect from this ministry?
Great satisfaction in serving the Lord while helping others.
When do we meet?
We meet with the Deacons the second Friday of the month.
What type of person should consider joining this ministry?
Membership is open only to the wives of deacons or widows/single women whom the church selects for this ministry.
How does this ministry incorporate Bible Study and Prayer?
By incorporating what is required from scripture into the function of the ministry.
