What is our primary function?
Oversee and do the planting and maintenance of all perennials, annuals, and shrubs. Plan and do seasonal upkeep including scheduled weeding and mulching. Make recommendations to Pastor and trustees about landscaping needs: pruning of trees, changes needed to beautify the landscape. Make recommendations regarding professional company needed for tree pruning, etc.
How does our ministry serve St. Paul?
The exterior and front of the church are the very first site anyone views and experiences upon their arrival to St. Paul. On any given day or evening it’s what a family sees as they come to celebrate the home going of a loved one and for others the blessing of a baby, wedding celebration, fall revival, family and friend’s day and more important those who visit seeking to find a church home.
How does our ministry serve the Kingdom?
The exterior of the church is important because it speaks to who we are as our extension of the body of Christ and as such should have some “curb appeal that reflects the beauty of the saints that call St. Paul their “home” faith community.
What is expected of those who join this ministry?
This ministry is open to anyone who is seriously interested in landscaping and assisting with the upkeep of the exterior of the church.
What can you expect from this ministry?
Fellowship with one another. A deeper understanding of the relationship with God and working in God’s garden. Participating in a team that’s committed to beautifying our church. Fun and laughter. Learn how to plant, prune, etc.
When do we meet?
We meet once Sept., Oct., Nov., April, May, June, and August. Will require some Saturday mornings for fall and spring cleanup (8 a.m – noon).
What type of person should consider joining this ministry?
The individual doesn’t have to be novice but someone who is interested in learning and loves working with plant, etc.
How does this ministry incorporate Bible Study and Prayer?
We pray before each cleanup morning. We pray at the beginning of each meeting and have a scripture reading. We pray at the closing of each meeting. Incorporate reading and or discussion.
